This reservoir and wilderness area captured my heart once again on a recent roadtrip into this spectacular part of the western U.S.
During our journey we enjoyed warm sunshine, beautiful sunsets, cool misty fog, hard-core rain storms with flash flood warnings and slippery, muddy roads. All while traversing around its 42,000+ acre surface area in awe.
Originally we scoped options for camping on the northern side of the reservoir, and enjoyed the impressive rock formations nearer Green River, Wyoming. However, we ended up heading south and securing a cabin near Dutch John, Utah instead.
This was the right choice for many reasons, but none as much as positioning us to be able to more easily explore the beauty of the Uinta Mountains frontal folds and canyons – rain or shine 🌦
